The Saline Valley Firefighters Association will be hosting the Fifth Annual Golf Scramble on Friday, October 8, 2010! The Association has its roots deep within the history of the Shady Valley and Springdale Fire Protection Districts and like the Districts, merged to form the Saline Valley Firefighters Association in January 2009.
The Association has always played in intricate role in the growth and development of the Fire District. In the early years of Shady Valley, the Association bought the first fire truck and provided manpower for both Springdale and Shady Valley before either District could afford full time paid staff. The Association, through out the years has raised money for much needed equipment the District could not afford on its own such as thermal imagers.
The Association is still an active part of the Saline Valley Fire Protection District today and its membership is made up of the Volunteer and Paid staff. The Association has participated in raising money for charitable organizations such as Burns Recovered Support Group, MDA and the Ryan Hummert Foundation. |

The Golf Tournament, which was brought back as a fundraising event for the Association is now in its fifth year! The event takes place at the Deer Creek Golf and Country Club in House Springs. Teams entering the tournament are provided a cart, 18 holes of golf, dinner and drink tickets.
There are also attendance prizes, a hole-in-one, longest putt, longest drive and closest to the pin holes throughout the course. Trophies are given to the first place and last place teams! The last place trophy is called the Tillerman Award! Tractor drawn ladder trucks have two drivers, the guy in the front and the guy in the back. The guy in the back is called the Tillerman, hence the name of the trophy! Everyone is a winner at our tournament!
The day is kicked off with registration at 10:00 am and shotgun start at 11:00 am. The event is funded entirely through sponsorships. Anyone interested in sponsoring a hole or entering a team can do so by downloading the PDF file below, filling out the forms and mailing or faxing them in. We are always in need of cash sponsorships, attendance gifts or prizes for the prize holes! |

Our Association is of course, not for profit and neither the Saline Valley Firefighters Association or the Saline Valley Fire Protection District will not be responsible for any additional fees, taxes or other monetary obligations which may arise as a result of Hole-In-One Prizes.
The cost the tournament this year is $280.00 for pre-registered teams and is due by September 26, 2010. If you miss the registration date, no problem, you can enter your team the day of the tournament, day of registration is $300.00 per team! Dont have a team? Thats no problem either, you can pre-register for $70.00 as an individual or register the day of the tournament as an individual for $75.00 and we will find a team for you!
This year, following the tournament, we will host a benefit dinner and dance for Todd Nicely, USMC. Anyone who played in the tournament is automatically admitted to the dinner and dance. |
